About VALO Technologies
A focused cybersecurity consultancy built on roughly a decade of regulated-industry experience.
Why this firm exists
VALO Technologies was founded to fill a specific gap in the cybersecurity market.
Large enterprises hire CISOs. Mid-market firms hire managed security service providers. But the organizations in between — clinics, RIAs, law firms, accounting practices, defense suppliers, mid-sized professional services firms — sit in a no-man's-land. They have regulatory obligations, real threat exposure, and growing pressure from clients, insurers, and auditors. They also have IT teams that are competent at running technology but were never hired to run a security program.
The traditional answers don't fit. A full-time CISO costs $200,000 to $400,000 in total compensation, depending on market and equity. The Big Four and large consultancies have minimum engagement sizes that price out anyone under 500 employees. Most regional MSPs sell IT first and add cybersecurity as a feature bundle, with neither the credentialed leadership nor the regulatory depth a serious security program requires.
VALO Technologies exists for the firms that need credentialed security leadership and engineering depth, scaled to organizations under 500 employees, focused on the regulatory frameworks that actually matter to them.
How VALO operates
We are a focused consultancy, not a generalist firm. We sell four services to three industries. That focus is intentional — it allows us to operate at depth rather than breadth, and it ensures every engagement is in our zone of competence.
We do not sell managed IT, hardware unconnected to security work, or telecom. We disclose any vendor partnerships and reseller relationships that influence our recommendations, and we do not accept undisclosed referral fees. We do not run a 24/7 security operations center; for clients who need one, we partner with established MSSPs and refer the work directly.
Clients work with the principal, not a junior account manager. The person scoping your engagement is the person doing the work.
How VALO got its name
"Valo" is the founder's professional name. The company carries it because the work is personal — the same person whose name is on the door is the person accountable for what gets delivered.
The founder
Loseini "Valo" Kamara is the founder & CEO of VALO Technologies. He has spent approximately a decade as a senior network security engineer in environments where the regulatory and operational stakes are highest.
His career has included security engineering work at Brooke Army Medical Center — the Department of Defense's largest military hospital — where he supported the network and security infrastructure as a civilian engineer. From there, his work has spanned a state health agency and major banking institutions, building experience across HIPAA, GLBA, FFIEC, and federal security frameworks in production environments under real regulatory pressure.
His technical depth is concentrated in the platforms enterprise security programs are actually built on: Palo Alto Networks (next-generation firewalls, Prisma Cloud, Cortex XDR), Microsoft Defender and Sentinel, F5 BIG-IP, and Cisco Umbrella. He holds the Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Engineer credential (PCCSE) along with CISM, CompTIA SecurityX, PenTest+, and CySA+.
He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, and an MBA in IT Management.
